On the 28th of February 2025, the Association of Professional Immigration Consultants – APIC , sat for their 2024 Bi-annual General Conference under the theme “APIC- Growing to Greater Heights”. The conference was held at Legacy Resort in Lusaka. The meeting was chaired by the out going executive board and the guest of honour was Mr. Simenda – Director – Human Resource and Administration – Immigration Department, who was standing in for the Director General – Immigration and Ministry of Home Affairs. Over 70 consultants were in attendance.

The conference discussed a number of issues affecting operations in the sector and the outgoing Chairperson, Mr Enock Shawa, called for continued co-operation between the association and the
Department of Immigration. During his speech, the Guest of honor – highlighted high levels of professionalism among consultants especially the newly registered. He emphasized the importance of
treating each case with great caution as they administer their services to the general public in conjunction with the department. In his farewell speech, Mr Shawa thanked the members together with his
team for the support rendered during their tenure of office. He further wished the new board, success and that his doors will remain open for any consultancy should they be any challenge.

ELECTIONS

The conference being a bi-annual event, also called for elections of a new executive board to lead the association for another two years. i.e. 2025 – 2027 period.
Candidates were allowed to sell their manifesto for the highly contested positions, while for those positions that were contested for, the sole candidates were elected unopposed.
The new 2025-2027 APIC Executive Board constitutes the following office bearers:-
